The Villages- Nancy Jo (Stanley)Wickstrom, 68, passed away on Friday, January 24, 2014, surrounded by her  treasured family.
Born on Aug. 20, 1945 in Madison,WI, Nancy graduated from Madison West High School and earned a teaching degree at UW-Oshkosh.  She married her soul mate, Richard (Wick) Wickstrom on 12/18/71.  She was an art teacher in Madison, WI and Charlotte, NC and named North Carolina Middle School art teacher of the year, a prestigious recognition of her devotion to both teaching and art.  An accomplished artist and highly respected among peers, her colorful art won numerous awards.  She was especially proud to be named artis tof the month in The Villages.  Friends jokingly referred to her as “Weekly Wickstrom” as she was constantly featured in the local newspaper.
As a member of Hope Lutheran Church, Visual Arts Association, Village Art League and many craft clubs, Nancy enjoyed life to the fullest!  She was a multi-talented artist who specialized in collage, abstract and watercolor.  In addition, she was a diehard Packers and Badgers fan, loved to spoil her dogs, and enjoyed long walks- especially on the beach.  She loved dancing in the kitchen to her favorite “hip” music.  Nancy also loved to shop and was not too happy about her recent $0 credit card balance!  Nancy and her husband retired early and traveled extensively in the U.S. and abroad.  They had recently returned from a memorable river boat cruise in Europe.  Above all, she was adored by everyone who knew her, especially her husband.  Nancy was his princess!
